Fast-growing Super Values
Creation of the Carlyle Street selfservice warehouse is another landmark in the G.U.S. co-operative's phenomenal recent growth. Five years ago there were only eight Super Value supermarkets in the South Island. Today' there are 23. and the total is expected to reach 30 within another two years.
As well as grocery stores and supermarket members,
to the I.G.A. or Super Value advertising groups.
G.U.S. has what it calls “sundry members” — dairies, discount stores, hardware stores, drapers, chemists and others who deal with the company but do not belong
Some of the benefits they receive from membership of G.U.S. are generous rebates on purchases, financial assistance, including Bank Overdraft guarantees and cash advances, regularly updated price and order book, group 'advertising, a weekly trade [information service, group [insurance benefits and mod[emisation services.
