Siegfried Bauer, the Wellington distance runner who set a record for the 1.380-mile run from the tip to the top of New Zealand, writes from [South Africa that he intends I soon to attempt a world 100mile record in England. Bauer was reported to be run down and receiving treatment for boils after his recent fine win in the 1000-mile race from Johannesburg!! to Cape Town. But he appears to have recovered.
