UNEMPLOYED
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 20. Ihe total number of registered unemployed had risen from 3882 at May 30 to 4260 at June 13. the Minister of Labour (Mr Faulkner) said today.
The number of unemployed males rose from 2454 to 2788 and the number of females from 1428 to 1472. The number of people race i v i n g unemployment benefits increased from 2140 to 2265. “New Zealand still continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in the Western world,” Mr Faulkner said. Only 0.2 per cent of the work force was receiving an unemployment benefit, he said.
