Divers’ claim
Four naval divers from the United States and Great Britain have claimed a record for deep-sea diving — 1148 feet (191 fathoms) below the Gulf of Mexico. The quartet emerged yesterday from a recompression chamber in which they had spent 11 days after their dive. — Panama City, Florida, June 20.
