Uncertain tone to trade on Australian markets
Australian markets ended a shorter week on a generally unsteady note after continued profit - taking. Most established mining and industrial issues lost
substantial portions of their recent gains, but i selective buying support lifted others to higher levels. 8.H.P., which has reported higher ironsand steel output !for May, closed with an 8c gain at 708 c after reaching i7l4c. C.S.R. slipped 5c to i42oc while Bundaberg (slumped 25c to 370 c on the depressed sugar prices.. The B.N.S.W. retreated 12c | to 620 c, and Elders G.M., (Aust Guarantee, Woolworths land I.A.C. showed slight (losses. E.Z. industries, Cyclone, Myers, Jennings and I.A.C. were a little firmer. Among the miners, Pancontinental rose 18c to 348 c to bring its total gains this
week to 48c. Queensland Mines, M.I.M. and WoodsideBurmah were marginally firmer. However, gold issues attraced little support. G.M.K. slipped 7c to 135 c. Bougainville, C.R.A., B.H.
