Children in factories
y Z Press Association > AUCKLAND, June 20. Complaints about children working in factories without wages have been received by the Auckland Trades Council. The council’s secretary (Mr P Purdue') said today’ that schoolchildren had in some cases been referred to factories to work for short periods "for the experience." “It appears that schoolchildren have been put into work situations tn factories for eight hours a day. without being paid." he said. The council will approach the Department of Education with instances of .schoolchildren s work without wages, and will seek an explanation of the circumstances of their work
