CORSO appeal

About 4500 collectors will be out on Saturday collecting for CORSO’s annual house-to-house appeal in the Christchurch area. The theme this year is “Care and share.”

Most of the help given by New Zealanders through CORSO went towards longterm projects and programmes which people in countries saw as the best way in which they could become self-reliant, said the regional organiser (Mr R. A. Consedine). These included irrigation schemes, education to spread knowledge of more efficient farming, and winning productive land from swamps and desert. In Christchurch, Tait Electronics, Ltd, has lent CORSO free of charge 12 radio-tele-phones for use on the appeal day.
