Receiverships increasing

Press Association) WELLINGTON. ‘ I The sharp increase in the I I number of New Zealand} [companies going into receiv-i ership and liquidation con-1 tinued during April, accord-1 ing to figures released today] by the Companies Office. During April, receivers were appointed to 28 companies, 18 more than in April, 1974. 18 receivers ceased acting this April, compared with six last year. Fourteen companies. 11 more than for last April, were reported as being the subject of a court order to wind up and 34 went into voluntary liquidation, eight more than last year. New companies registered during April fell from 696 to 621, with total nominal capital being $4,654,885. Dissolutions in April totalled fell from 275 to 241 and at April 30, 1975 there were 98,663 companies on the register, an increase of 3120. Of these 511 were based overseas, two fewer than for last year.
