Fault in lamps
■ CV.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 18. Only six of 200 faulty bed ; lamps had been found by to- ! night. | The factory manager for | the manufacturer. Polygon i(N.Z.), Ltd (Mr D. Puddephatt) said from Auckland ' that he was not disappointed at the response. ■ The firm issued warnings about the lamps yesterday. ! The fault lies in the 1 insulation of the lamp. During manufacture a plastic ; insulation tube was not 1 placed around the cord to provide double insulation. Mr Puddephatt said the : lamps were safe as long as : they were not moved about ! excessively. If they were ' treated roughly the cord 1 might wear through, and expose live wires.
