C.S.I.R.O. staff oppose split

(N.Z.P.A.Reuter—Copyright) ADELAIDE, June 18. A writ has been taken out |in the High Court .of Australia seeking an injunction to restrain the Government from splitting up the C.S.LR.O. The writ was taken out yesterday by an Adelaide law firm, on behalf of the C.S.LR.O. Officers Association.

The association, which represents 90 per cent of scientists working for the C.S.LR.O. in divisions throughout Australia, is objecting to two divisions of C.S.LR.O. becoming a part of a Federal department.

The Prime Minister (Mr Whitlam) gave the Minister for Minerals and Energy (Mr Rex Connor) the solar energv unit and minerals research laboratories when he reshuffled the Cabinet a fortnight ago.
