Market rallies ' after report The New York stock market showed a big gain on Friday to make a small net rise for the week. The Dow Jones average of [3O industrials climbed 17.29 to close at 832.29 on Friday after the Government s report ion Thursday that its index 'of leading economic indicators rose in April. The indicators jumped a record 4.2 per cent in April, the second monthly rise after II months of decline. Some weakness in prices after the report apparently stemmed from the energy programme, which calls for : higher taxes on imported [petroleum, and de-control of [ domestic oil prices.
