Michael Same — former M actor, pop singer, composer , and photographer—made his . full-length directing debut i with "Joanna” in 1968. It is a tale of the swinging sixties about a girl who goes; from the provinces to London and gets involved with the in-crowd. It’s a world of: parties, playtime and day--j dreams but at the end of it all she finally finds herself. | Genevieve Waite took the
title role, with the main supporting roles going to Christian Doermer, Calvin Lockhart and Donald Sutherland. The music was written by Rod McKuen. "Joanna” will be screened on TVI on Wednesday night. Propaganda The first casualty in any war is truth. A Thames Television documentary looks at the assisin of truth—progaganda—particularly as it applied to the First World War. Then, as in later wars, Bri-i tain was inundated with’ stories of German atrocities, imost of them whipped up by’ newspapers, films and bombasts such as Horatio! Bottomley. “First Casualty” will be, screened on TVI tonight. '■
