‘ARMS STORE IN NAMIBIA’
fN.Z.P A Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, June I. Mr Sam Nujoma, president of the South-west Africa People’s Organisation, has accused South Africa of trying to entrench and consolidate its occupation of Namibia (South-West Africa) by a continuing build-up of armed forces there.
Speaking in the United Nations Security Council, which has begun a new attempt to force South Africa to withdraw frpm the territory as ordered bv the United Nations, he said: "Pretoria has not only been reinforcing its forces in Namibia, but also setting up new military bases in different parts of the country.” He said the United Nations was the legal authority over Namibia and must supervise any election there Xien conditions were ready for this. The mineral-rich territory' has been under South African control since 1918, when the now-defunct League of Nations transferred the former German colony to its administration.
