Jeans boom in Aust.
The continuing boom in jeans has ensured another strong profit increase for Levi Strauss (Australia) Pty, Ltd, in the year to November 30. The 59.5 per cent , rise in net profit to $1,484,501 is in marked contrast to the fortunes of the listed Amco Holdings, Ltd, which, with Levi, dominates the Australian market. Amco’s sales rose 10.8 peri cent in the year to June 30,1 1974, but its profit fell 3.61 per cent. However in thei half year to December 31, its earnings rose 12.1 per cent.
