Accused doctor takes own life
(N.Z.P A. Reuter—Copyright) BOLOGNA, May 18. A woman doctor has hanged herself in a mental asylum in Bologna while awaiting trial for the mercykilling of her father and sister seven months ago. Dr Giacomina Allocca, aged 44, said after her arrest: “Their suffering is over now. But mine is just beginning.” Her father needed constant care after an operation two years ago for the removal of a kidney. The operation revealed that he had cancer. Her sister also needed constant supervision at home after a nervous breakdown.
Dr Allocca was accused of killing them by injections.
