Good weather for ducks

The weather has not been very kind to duck shooters this season, according to the chairman of the game committee of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society (Mr G. Mugford).

Because of all the fine weather things had not been on the shooters’ side, he said.

“Although plenty of birds have been available, shooters have been pretty disappointed with the bags they have got.” Mr Mugford is hoping the weather will get rougher before the season closes at Queen’s Birthday week-end.
