No violence, no goals

(N.Z.P.A.Reuter—Copyright) BELFAST.

England’s international soccer team played its first match in Northern Ireland on Saturday for four years, making a peaceful return to the province it has shunned because of sectarian violence. A crowd of 36,500 gave the English footballers an enthusiastic welcome. Tight security surrounded the players during the visit, and no violent incidents were reported.

There was also little drama on the field as England gave a dull performance in a game which ended in a 0-0 draw.
