Fewer houses, more flats
In April. 194 building permits valued at $1,907,661 were issued by the Waimairi County Council, compared with 187 permits worth, $1,665,463 in April. 1974. While fewer house permits, were issued last month, permits for flats, 16 blocks totalling 34 units, were valued at $427,280. compared with five blocks of 11 flats valued at’ $133,700 a year ago. The average cost of a' house last month was $20,838. or $169 a square metre, compared with $17,621 and $132 a year Ago.
