Baldwin out of softball
(N.Z. Press Association > WELLINGTON. Wayne Baldwin (Hutt Valjiey) has withdrawn from the I New Zealand softball team on the eve of its departure 'for Canada and the United States. A member of the New Zealand team since 1966, Baldwin, aged 26, said yesterday: “I have a good prospect of promotion in my job and I cannot afford to throw it away.” He will be replaced in the team by the 22-year-old Auckland utility third base, Alan Russell, who was originally chosen as a non-travel-i ling reserve.
