PIGEON DOUBLE
A pigeon bred and flown by Mr D, McMillan, of Woolston, Christchurch, finished with the best average velocity after the second leg of the prestige double —the Masterton race—was held by the South Island Racing Pigeon Futurity Board of Control on Saturday.
The first leg—the South Island Futurity—was flown over 180 miles from Plcton and the second leg—which completed the board’s 1975 young bird programme—was flown over 244 miles. Results:— Double.—D.
