POACHING FEAR

The possibility of having his athletes poached by centres wanting to hold their own international events is worrying the Christchurch promoter, Mr K. J. Ryall, who is to stage five meetings in January'. “1 have got to guard against this happening and I have written to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to seek its support in this matter,” he said. “If I am going to pay the costs of bringing athletes to New Zealand. I have got to make sure tha. nobody else can use them without permission.”

It is not possible to have amateur athletes sign a contract.
