DASHING TRIAL
Churchill Lad in form (“The Press’' Special Service) i HASTINGS. Churchill Lad returned a dash- 1 ing trial for the Oreka Handicap at Hastings on Saturday when he partnered Chattel Note in their gallop at Hastings yesterday morning. The plough was deep and holding and the course proper hard and fast. On the course proper Churchill Lad and Chattel Note ran 1000,. metres in Imin 3sec. the last 600 in 40sec. Sugar Dad and Alyeide ran 800: metres in 53sec, the last 600 in 4Bsec. Prince Appeal which is in the first division of the Nursery. Handicap, ran 1000 metres in imin 3 l-ssec,- the last 600 in 37 4-ssec. On the plough Guest Star ran a quiet seven furlongs in Imin 41 l-ssec, the last half-mile in 55 2-ssec and the final three furlongs in 41 l-ssec. He was doing his work easily. i “We have not yet engaged a rider for him.” said Mrs Ivan Tucker. Bestow, which will clash with iphurchill Lad in the final event. Iran five furlongs in Imin 12sec.. 'the last three in 42 2-ssec. |
