National’s hopes for Lyttelton
A lawyer, a woman accountant, and an advertising account executive have been selected to face the National Party’s Lyttelton electorate committee on May 21.

surer, treasurer of the Can-terbury-Westland division of the party and a Dominion councillor. Mr P. K. Matheson, aged 27. married, who is an account executive with an advertising company and who was Dominion president ofl the New Zealand Young Nationals three years ago. Mr N. G. A. Young, aged 3b. married with a daughter ] He is a barrister and solicitor and a partner in the firm; or which his father. Mr R. A.! Young, is a principal. Both Miss Dewe and Mr! Young live in the electorate ! The three nominees were chosen from a list of ‘‘nearly: e doren.” Mr R. A. Gormack,; the electorate chairman, who! announced the names last evening, said he was nor authorised to announce the number of nominees. Thei party rules require the num-i ber of nominees to be reduced to three, four or five for final selection. Mr Gormack had been; mentioned as a likelv candidate; but he was not a con-1 tender.
When the candidate is chosen there will be 131 voting delegates at the meeting.
