AID AFTER FLOOD

(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, April 15. Thirtv-one fanners along the Kaikoura Coast have applied to the Marlborough Catchment Board for assistance in repairing flood damage amounting to $40,000 on 546 hectares of land after last month’s disastrous storm.

A meeting of the board today was told that almost half the cost of the proposed work would be subsidised, and half the balance or local share would be subject to a special grant under provisions of “aid for disaster damage.” The board approved the repair work as “individual board works in bulk,” individual costs to be assessed later.
