David Campton’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel, “Frankenstein,” is the b.test offering by the Riccarton Players. Ray Sangrouber and Alison
Jacobs are shown in a scene from the two-act play, which is being produced by Shirley Caddick. The production will feature a Frankenstein
monster (played by Doug Clarke) rather different from the terrible figure created by Boris Karloff in the famous vintage film. The novel, written in 1811, was one of the first horror novels, and, says Mrs Caddick, has suffered from the films which have exploited its monstrous aspects. Other members of the cast include Michael West and Jean McKenzie. The play will open in the Nelson Street Hall on Saturday, and will run for a week.
