f.VZ Pre,., Association) ' WELLINGTON. The Belmont Green golf course at Wanganui is expected to be in top condition for the Frey berg Rose Bowl golf championship next; month. The chairman of the New Zealand Golf Council (Mr J. G. Slade) inspected the course on Sunday and testerday confirmed that it; should he up to standard. “We have had all sorts of wild rumours flying around that five or six greens had been lost and that Wanganui; would not be in any condi-i tion for the Frevberg." he said. "That is just not true. By! the time the championships a-e played the course should be as good as any in the Mr Slade agreed that two greens had been lost through bug infestation. “But that was nine weeks ago. They) n-ve since been re-sown and all will be in use again by; the week-end,” he said.
