( entrepoint, has found a location for its women’s club. A lease on premises in t he former Plaza cinema building in Cathedral Square has just been signed. Two years of concentrated lund-raising bx women from C hristchurch and .Canterbun has made stage one of I Centrepoint's plan for a central city women's club a | reality. I The club facilities, its organisers have alwax s stressed, will cater lor all Women from town and eoun'ry. A verx determined effort has been made by an ’increasing membership b get the project well under w a y in Internationa! Women's Year. An architect is now planninging alterations to the premises. There will b« a lounge and games rooms, and a place to write letters and have a cup of coffee. | Eventually it is hoped there will be bar facilities. A creche will be an important part of the service to members. Space for meetings, seminars. hobbies, and social’ l functions will be provided. The character of the old’ 1 building will be preserved 1 - and renovated wherever pos- 1 sible. i
