The fourth seed, Vitas Gerulitas, stopped Rod Laver’s winning streak in World Championship Tennis tournaments at 23 matches yesterday and advanced to the final of the St Louis classic with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, win, United Press International reported. Gerulitas, aged 20, the youngest player on the Blue group tour, will meet Roscoe Tanner for the first prize of $12,000. Tanner, the No. f, beat Brian Gottfried, 6-2, 7-6. Gerulitas, who has been in the Blue group finals twice this year, got on top in the second set after being 1-3 behind. Gerulitas, a righthander, won the next five games.

In a quarter-final. Tanner beat Brian Fairlie (New Zealand). 7-5. 6-7. 7-5.
