Warning to whites
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright)
SALISBURY. Anril 13. An African nationalist leader has warned Rhodesian whites that an armed struggle for majority rule would affect their existence disastrously.
The warning came from Dr Edson Sithole, commenting on the recent conference of the Organisation of African Unity, which threatened to intensify guerrilla warfare if negotiations over Rhodesia and SouthWest Africa failed.
Dr Sithole, who is the African National Council’s publicity officer, also re-; peated that unless all nat-| ionalist detainees were re-' leased from detention, there: would be no talks with the! Rhodesian Government.
“The question facing Rhodesia is not whether the I Europeans accept majority! rule or not. but whether! they prefer the Africans to; achieve it peacefully or! violently, because it is com-' ing very soon,” Dr Sithole said. j
