6 dead, 38 hurt in bomb blast

BELFAST. April 13. Terrorists fired shots through the windows of a crowded Belfast bar last
night, and threw in a bomb which killed six people and wounded 38.
At least four of the dead were women.
Responsibility for the bombing of the Strand Tavern, in the city's Roman Catholic Short St: and district. was later claimed by a ■ group which called a local
radio station and identified itself as the Protestant Young Militants. It was the heaviest !--s ~f
life in a single incident in Northern Ireland since the Irish Republican Army's Provisional wing declared a cease-fire on February 10.
