DEVELOPMENT * System Planning: investigating the economic and technical long term development of the transmission system. * Power Development: economic and technical evaluation of alternative sources for the long term development of generating stations (hydro and thermal). * Research: the investigation, tn depth, of complex technical problems DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION “ Power Station Design and Construction (hydro and thermal): planning and design of electrical and mechanical plant and equip ment for power stations; the installation and commissioning of that plant and equipment. Sub-station Design and Construction: planning, design and construction of substations; the installation and commissioning of plant and equipment. * Transmission Lines: the planning, design (electrical, mechanical, civil) construction and commissioning of E H.V. transmission lines. * Technical Purchasing: preparation of specifications; tender evaluation and recommendation; plant, equipment and material inspection and acceptance. OPERATIONS * Generation. Transmission, Supply Facilities the development and review of policies, standards and practices relevant to reliability of supply and meeting system requirements; the economic operation and maintenance of facilities; the economic and effective solution of technical and related problems. * System Operations: development and revi< vv of short and long term policies for system operation and also procedures to ensure reliable, economic control of the system to meet demand. QUALIFICATIONS: Senor Engineers and Engineers: an engineering degree or equivalent engineers’ registration and appropriate experience. Assistant Engineers: an engineering degree or equivalent qualification. The salary level on appointment will depend on experience and qualification. Assistance towards expenses incurred will be given to a married man required to move his household.
