Chathams prices
Sir,—Why is it we have to 'pay so much for our goods here at the Chathams? We [pay 28c for one roll of toilet : paper, 48c for a 4oz refill tin [of tomato sauce, 42c for ; babies’. teats, and $1.75 for fmilk powder. After all we are •part of New Zealand. We get our supplies every six weeks, j but the shop owner can put everything up 20c every ■ Saturday morning and noone says anything.—Yours, etc., HELP U.S MUGS Owenga, Chatham Islands, April 7, 1975.
