Mt Davy report
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, April 10. An environmental impact report on proposals to export West Coast coal from Mount Davey to Japan is being prepared. Several environmental groups had commented on the proposal, emphasising the relationship between coal resources and the country’s energy policy, and the need for conservation, said the Minister for the Environment (Mrs Tirikatene-Sullivan) today. “An impact report is being prepared and public comments will be invited by the Commission for the Environment during its auditing,” she said. The audit would be available to the Cabinet when it decided on the proposal.
