Fish market Bd suggested
< Front Our Oii'ii Reporter) GREYMOUTH. April 9. The West Coast Development Council will ask the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries (Mr Moyle) to consider the creation of a fish marketing board, with or without power of acquisition, to maintain a floor price for fish. The suggestion came at a 1 meeting of the council this week from Mr T. E. Wallis. It was felt that such a roard could institute a programme of overseas marketng such as that undertaken ifter the formation of the 'kpple and Pear Board. Mr R. F. Beadle had earlier rut lined to the council the problems of the West Coast Ishing industry with regard o markedly reduced prices or fish caught in relation to mbstantial increases in fuel; md other costs of operation.!
