Poor support for night Rugby
s The Canterbury Rugby Union is not getting the support it had hoped for from clubs in its experiment with night games at Denton Park. The competitions chairman (Mr| S. E. Husbandi told last evening’s meeting of the union’s management committee that he was: having great difficulty arranging a game for Monday week, the; > last of the three nights set aside I for club matches. He said unless there was a 1 change of heart by the clubs it . was possible that next Mondax j would have to be the final night. Mr Husband said there appeared to be a certain amount f of fear among the clubs about . night games. Moore and \V Collins, who had charge of the Under 20 team last year. Messrs 1 Eggerton and F. B. ('ampbell held thru places as the Under 19 selectors Appeal declined. An appeal by the Kaiapoi club against a de vision of the North C anterbury sub-union not to allow the Kaia poi under 17 team to plax in th* town competition was declined However, the committee agreed to receive a deputation from th' club—to put its case further and hear the reasons behind the de cision next week
