Their fate was in 1 doubt today because of a I 24-hour curfew and the seair ing off of Saigon’s Tan Son F Nhut airport after the bombing of the Presidential , palace. . An overseas national airI ways flight of 287 refugee , children was on its way toward the United States. It ! had been preceded last night! . by an Air Force jet carrying; , 65 orphans. ; In Washington the airlift ’ .jprompted tears, anger and; •i questions at a Capitol Hill! '; meeting yesterday. The meeting of about 200 1 Congressional aides and members of adoption and ■ humanitarian groups was called to rally support for j going far beyond President ! Ford’s proposed airlift of 2000 orphans.
