Romantic comedy

A new series, based on a successful 1949 movie. — "Adam's Rib" — will start on Friday afternoon. The only things that separate Adam Bownnler from his original namesake are a few thousand years and a wife named Amanda instead of Eve. But for Adam. Amanda is just as troublesome as Eve ever was, for as an attorney for an established law firm, her legal viewpoint often clashes with that of her assistant districtattorney husband. As the series creator Peter Stone puts it, "Adam's Rib" is not just a continuation of the war between the sexes, but rather a romantic comedy about the i elationship between a man and a woman who share a common passion — “for law, love and marriage”. Ken Howard plays Adam, Bly’the Danner is Amanda, and other series regulars are Dena Dietrich, Ron Rifkin and Edward Winter. The series is based on the 1949 comedy’ film of the same name, which starred Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn.
