Another North campaign for Grey Way
Grey Way, which triumphed brilliantly under top-weight in the Great Easter Handicap at Riccarton yesterday, will return to the North Island this week and will run in the Pakistan II Stakes at Awapuni on Saturday.
All going well after that, ; the Washdyke trainer, Pat ; Corboy, will then take the I grey speedster on to Tauranga for the Japan-Bay of Plenty Stakes, run over 1600 i metres at the Bay of Plenty i Racing Club’s meeting. Grey Way, a winner at -weight-for-age in Melbourne last spring, has been bogged down on minor places on pre-
vious campaigns in the North | Island this season, but has
;had two victories at Riccar:ton in the last few weeks, .and has now won 17 races for Mr Peter South, of Geral-, dine. Grey Way dominated betting on the Great Easter and gave Bill Skelton the easiest of rides. The four-year-old forged through a gap on the inside of the pacemaking Zetland on clearing the false rail and won running away by two! lengths. Zetland, although weaken-1. ing, saved second by a neck from Entourage. i
