MILL PLAN DEFERRED
<N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, The Nelson forestry company, H. Baigent and Sons, Ltd,’ has deferred its planning programme for a refiner groundwood pulpmill, and paid off several members of its staff working on the project. In a statement, the chairman of directors (Mr P. E. McDonald) said that because of circumstances entirely beyond the company’s control the directors had been I forced to delay the building; I of the Spring Grove mill. ‘ “The delays in obtaining; the various approvals re-1 quired before the project' could proceed have com-, pletely upset the planned, and 'budgeted engineering,; construction, and start-up programme,” he said.
