S.I. archery tournament
(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU. B. Gillon (Invercargill) took the lead with a score of 1601 .points in the men’s section of the South Island archery tournament in Timaru. He won the Albion and Burton rounds on a countback from I). McAuley (Christchurch), who also gained 1601 points. Third placing in the men s section went to R. Barrett <Ashburton). who scored a total of 1518 points. Tn the womens section. Mrs Cattermole (Christchurch) took the lead with 1645 points to wm the Windsor and Burton rounds. She was followed in second place by Mrs P. Turner (Dunedin), with 1306 points. Places in the team shooting were: Dunedin 2800 1. Timaru 2534 2. Hokanui 1960 3.
