Jerry’s Talent should win at Forbury

The Morrinsville trainer, Clarric Woodward, looks sets to gain his second win on his southern holiday with Jerry’s Talent in the Easter Pace at Forbury Park on Saturday.

Woodward, who originally came from Southand, won with Jerrj r ’s Talent at Wyndham on March 8, and he paced a fine race to run the Speedy Tanui to a neck over 2800 m at Winton last Saturday.

The standard of the opposition in this race does not look to be particularly high, and, from No. 4 at the barrier, he should be prominently placed all the way. Vamoose, a five-year-old with a sound record as a stayer, Kishmul, Late State, and Keep Gay are others expected to race prominently. A capacity field will contest the Stadium Pace, another mobile-start event and the second leg of the main double. Cyclone Lad, Whaa Hana, and Loch End are three Canterbury pacers expected to hold their own. Flying Tufts and Song Kay are two other form runners from Canterbury assured of solid support. Southland stables are also strongly represented, and bold runs are expected from Young Kenny, Damian Peter, Roseland Lad, and Robyn’s Dream, all of which have done well on the recent southern circuit. (T.A.B. double closes 7.10 p.m.) (T.A.B. closes 7.30 p.m.) 8.40 p.m.— EASTER PACE $1550; C 3; mobile start; 2700 m. 1 0000 MYSTERY BOX (1) It (5 g Good Point — Wee Lass). Looks the likely winner on that run. C. Woodward 5 2044 KEEP GAY (5) It (5 g Keep Away — Gay Judy). Only fair runs at his last three starts, but before that paced the occasional good race. Could surprise. G. Shand 6 1874 VAMOOSE (4) It (5 g Keep Away — Dlliean). Came on well for fourth on the
