Revenue from North Sea oil

(N Z,P A.-Reuter) LONDON, March 13. The British Minister of Finance (Mr Edmund Dell) said yesterday that the British Government’s total revenue from North Sea oil up to 1980 might be £4ooom. Answering a written Parliamentary question, Mr Dell said that the tax yield would depend on oil prices, costs and maintenance. He added: “With that important proviso, the tax revenue up to the end of 1980 might be of the order of £2ooom to £2500m. “With royalty, the Government take might be about £4000m.”
