Leo Molloy suspended
The Washdyke jockey, Leo Molloy, will miss two days racing after Incurring two separate terms of suspension at Ashburton yesterday. He was suspended up to and including March 15 for causing Interference to Grecian Goddess in the Laurtston Handicap in which he rode Bunny Hop.
After the Trial Stakes Number Two, later In the day, Molloy was charged with allowing Shuoton to shift ground when not sufficiently clear of Jet Setter and Botany about 450 metres from home. The judicial committee decided to suspend him up to and including March 17. Payment of the qulnella dividend in the First Trial Stakes was withheld, pending an inquiry Into jostling bv the second place Bennelong (M. C. Thornley) to the third place horse Immortal (M. J Skelton) over the concluding stages of the race. Thornley was also charged with careless riding. After hearing all relevant evidence and viewing the film, the judicial committee found that the Interference caused to Immortal was nf sufficient degree to relegate Bennelong to third place and promote Immortal to second place.
