C.I.A. gives Nol Govt slim chance

(N Z P A -Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Mar. 12. The Cambodian Government's chances of survival do not rate high, according to a report by the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (Mr William Colby) to a Congressional committee.

Members said that he expressed a grimly pessimistic view to the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee on Investigations, which plans to consider a request today from President Ford for about SNZI62m for emergency aid for Cambodia. Mr Colby said that the American airlift of supplies to Phnom Penh would end by the middle of next month if extra funds were not approved by Congress. A senior Republican, Mr Pierre Dupont, of Delaware, said the Colby report reinforced a feeling that more aid would not help. “The Cambodian Government’s survival can be measured in days, not in weeks, months or years,” he said.
