MINISTERIAL QUIZ

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 6. Container operators will have a “quiz session” with the Minister of Transport (Sir Basil Arthur) about a South Island container port next Tuesday. A spokesman for the shipping lines said today that the Minister had requested the meeting. The lines favour Port Chalmers as the sole South Island container port, but

the ports authority has decided on both Port Chalmers and Lyttelton. Sir Basil now has to decide. He said today he expected the decision to be made by the end of the month. “I expect the meeting will take the form of a quiz session with the Minister asking us about aspects of it, and us telling him what we consider,” the spokesman said.
