Boy toddled four miles
(A’.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Mar. 5. A two-year-old boy who was found four miles from his home in Eden Terrace Auckland, tonight, is believed to have walked the distance in the three hours he was missing. To get from his home in Charlotte Street, Eden Terrace, to Bellview Road, Mount Eden, where he was discovered, the little boy had to cross the busy Dominion Road flyover or the busy’ Dominion Road and the main trunk railway line which runs alongside it.
The Auckland police do not know which way he went. They mounted an extensive search when the boys’ parents noticed he was missing. When a boy was found in Mount Eden the police found it difficult to believe he was the one reported missing from Eden Terrace. “We are pretty sure he walked by himself,” said a policeman tonight. “We don’t think he took a ride with anyone.” Late tonight the boy was tucked up in bed, none the worse for his long walk.
