Bisley exports offset fall in local sales
Group sales of A. M Bisley and Company. Ltd. for the half year to December 31. 'increased 314 per cent largely as a result of a substantial increase in industrial and export business. Export orders written and to be supplied for the lull year have alreadv increased to about $1,300,000. While there has been an inevitable increase in costs, 'profit for the year is expected to be satisfactory, particularly in view of the ’volume of export business, they say.
The company will soon float a new $1,000,000 debenture issue, mainly to provide additional finance for increased New Zealand and export sales. Funds from this issue will also be used to renew the 10 year maturity of the original debenture floated in 1965.
The company is encouraged by the success of its export sales drive, as there is every indication that increased export sales will offset any reduction of activity within New Zealand which might occur as a result of the present economic situation, the directors say.
