Prizes for design
Three awards for design excellence in 1974 were announced on Tuesday evening by the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects. The awards were made to the Ministry of Works for the design of the James Hight Library at the Ham I site, the University of Canter-1 bury, to Lovell-Smith, Sulli-i van, and Associates and; Peter Beaven and Associates! for designing the Queen Elizabeth II sports complex; and to the City Engineers ; Department of the Christchurch City Council for the' Cathedral Square redevelop- 1 :ment.
