(N Z Press A»«oct<ition i WELLINGTON, Feb. 26. Attempts to “tie up” two Soviet officials in the recent hearing of the secrets case against Dr W. B. Sutch were aimed at casting a shadow on the activities of the Soviet Embassy, said the head of the embassy’s information office (Mr 0. P. Benytfch) today. Mr Benyukh said he had been asked ab&ut his embassy’s attitude towards the result of the Supreme Court, trial. “I can only say that the decision of the court adds nothing to our former evaluations.” he said. “The Soviet Embassy will continue’ to carry out .the guideline of its Government for further developing and strengthening mutually advantageous Soviet-New Zealand co-operation,” Mr Benyukh said.
