Penfolds ahead
The group net profit of W. C. Penfold Holdings, Ltd, rose 19.8 per cent, and revenue 22.6 per cent, in the six months to December 31. The company will pay an unchanged interim dividend of 6.25 c a share (6.25 per cent) on March 20.
The company says that current trading trends show a lessening of demand “which indicates a possibility that the latest result may not be maintained.” However, it predicts that the final result will compare favourably with that obtained last year, and that dividends will be maintained.
